Share Your Story on Prostate.net

Everyone with a prostate disease has their own unique story, their own history, struggles, treatment decisions, lifestyle, diet and nutrition regime and times of despair and triumph. How would you like to pass on your experience to the www.prostate.net community?

In October 2010, www.prostate.net will be launching a full information and resources website for men with prostate disorders and their loved ones that care for them. We would love to share your story with the www.prostate.net community and allow your experience and story to educate others looking for support and resources.

Send us your story to contact@www.prostate.net and we will look to publish it on the website. By sharing your story you will provide personal insights and information into your experience that others are unable to get from the medical community. After all, the best experience and advice often comes from the patient who has to live day to day with their disease and effects of their individual treatment.

We would also by the way welcome and really love to hear from partners and care givers. How has your partner’s diagnosis affected your life? And what are the unique issues form a care-givers perspective?

Stories can be submitted in an email Word attachment and may cover (as suggested items only; please feel free to provide your own story and personal comments):

1.  Your first name (we wont use full names unless we have your consent).

2.  A JPEG photo of yourself.

3.  Your disease (prostate cancer, BPH, prostatitis, ED) and severity/grade.

4.  Description of how you felt the day of diagnosis (and was there any warning signs?).

9.  Medications you use. Do they work? Side Effects?

11. What supplements you take (if any).

12. Practical tips/products you like and which have helped you in dealing with treatment and post-treatment recovery.

13. Any alternate treatments (meditation, stress management) that you use.

14. Any other information that may be useful to the community in helping others with their disease. Words of hope and positive encouragement are welcome of course!
