Reflexology

Reflexology pictureThe ancient healing art of reflexology is based on the concept that the body is divided into various zones, and that when pressure is applied to one area of a zone, it is possible to relieve pain and other symptoms elsewhere in the same zone.

One of the benefits of reflexology, along with pain relief, is that you can do it yourself, or have a partner do it for you, once you know which spots to treat. In the feet, for example, the zone that includes the groin is on the back of the foot, where the foot meets the leg. On the hands, the zone that includes the groin is on the back of the hand just beyond the wrist on the thumb side, not the little finger side. Your best bet is to study a reflexology chart, and follow the instructions on how much pressure to apply and for how long.

Although many reflexology websites and practitioners insist this method is helpful for relieving pain and discomfort associated with the prostate, the scientific evidence is lacking.
